King Ravana is much famous in Indian epic story Ramayana and there was a great fight between King Ravana and Rama for the wife of King Rama. Ravana had capture Queen Seeta (Wife of Rama) and take her to Lanka by a vehicle call Vimana. The major point is what is vimana? Great king Ravana in Dadu Monara (Vimana )

There are several ancient text book found in India about this Vimana Technology (ancitent aircraft technology). According to that book some Vimana has the Engine capacity of 80000 horse Powers. According to Indian Great Epic Story there is a poem which mentioned Vimana.

"(the weapon was) a single projectile
charged with all the power of the Universe.
An incandescent column of smoke and flame
As bright as the thousand suns rose in its entire splendor...
An iron thunderbolt,
A gigantic messenger of death,
Which reduced to ashes?
The entire race of the Vrishnis
And the Andhakas.
 the corpses were so burned
As to be unrecognizable.
The hair and nails fell out;
Pottery broke without apparent cause,
And the birds turned white.
.. After a few hours
All foodstuffs were infected.
... to escape from this fire
The soldiers threw themselves in streams
To wash themselves and their equipment.."

Some type of Vimana
According this poem this should be we can assume this is similar to nuclear war. According to ancient veda book There are 32 mythologies to create Vimana and those Vimanas are run by sunlight and use mercury for Engine. There are so many information’s available on internet and I am planning to post several articles on this mysterious ancient Indian aircraft technology (Vimana) in near future.
